Located on the Pacific Flyway, Hagerman Valley’s riparian habitat along the river hosts a variety of neotropical migrants during the spring and summer months.  With warmer temperatures, year round open water, a laced network of sheltered ponds and marshes, and plenty of food in the nearby fields, it’s possible to see as many as 100 bird species during the 3-day Festival!  Exciting field trips include exploring the new Cassia Crossbill species, and the Sandhill Cranes are already back by the hundreds!

The 2018 Hagerman Bird Festival REGISTRATION is now open, but tickets are limited!  Sign up now before the field trips you want are sold out.  This year we’re also offering river catamaran and pontoon bird tours that can either be combined with the Festival or experienced by themselves.

Besides Nathan Pieplow, renowned bird sound expert and  Saturday Evening Keynote Speaker, we have attracted 18 top birders as our Festival Field Trip HostsAaron UtzBarry BrownBill BridgesBill ChisholmBrenda MitchellBryce RobinsonChris O’BrienDee SmithJan SimpkinJeff & Judy RuprechtKarl RuprechtKathy EklkundLarry BarnesPat WeberPoo Wright-Pulliam, our resident artist, Randy Smith and Sarah Harris, president of the local Audubon Society chapter.

Tickets for just the dinner/keynote are $40, optional Catamaran Bird Tours are $45 and Pontoon Bird Tours are $25, both of which are discounted if purchased with a Festival ticket.

Festival net proceeds will help fund the Foundation’s Hagerman Valley Bird Conservancy efforts.  At this time, these efforts include establishing additional bird sanctuaries, sponsoring a variety of bird tours and organizing mountain bluebird trail monitoring.  Please email HagermanBirdFestival@gmail.com if you are interested in getting involved with us “Birds” in Hagerman Valley!
